The poetry of Nathan Howe has been honored in the Rosenberry Writer's Contest at the University of Northern Colorado. He writes free verse and metered poems, although many of his metered poems become lyrics instead. He is currently preparing a manuscript for a book-length collection of poetry.
nonfiction
Expository and explanatory writing is the bulk of Nathan Howe's written work, but he prefers to write creative nonfiction which blurs the lines between poetry and prose. His short essays have been awarded locally, and he regularly submits letters to newspapers on current issues.
short fiction
Nathan Howe takes the short story form seriously. In his writing/performance project Really, Really, Really Short Stories, he presents brief audiobooks in sixty seconds or less.
blogging
Although it is criticized by some old-fashioned writers, blogging has become a literary genre in itself. You can see Nathan Howe's blogging efforts on his personal blogs, as well as other outlets like Twitter.
