Coaching

As part of his work in higher education, Nathan Howe is a trained coach. He specializes in personal and professional coaching to help clients take concrete action toward their goals.

Coaching is not therapy. It can work in harmony with therapy, but there are key differences.

According to the International Coaching Federation, coaching is “…partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaching focuses on visioning, success, the present and moving toward the future. Therapy emphasizes psychopathology, emotions and the past to understand the present, and it works more with developing skills for managing emotions or past issues than does coaching.”

Essentially, the coaching approach is a client-led creative process that focuses on the future. As a coach, Nathan Howe specializes in coaching for educators, artists, and those navigating faith journeys. But he is open to other clients who may find the process beneficial.

Individual and small group sessions are available. Reach out if you think you may benefit from coaching, and we’ll discuss whether this process is a good fit for your needs.
